Online: I’ve been discussing hiphop online in Swedish and English since about 1997 on different blogs, forums and message boards, such as Davey D’s Hiphop Corner, SOHH.com, mokkamekka, youtube and whoa.nu under nics such as Soul Survivor, Tobbelito, Tobbelito78, Soul_Survivor_II and Cappuccinosocialist. My first hiphop blog was called truskool. It was in English and consisted of record reviews. Then I had Headnod, which was a blog in Swedish about hiphop culture in general. Finally I have the blog Cappuccinosocialist, which is in Swedish and deals with politics, culture, literature, art, music and anything else that comes up.

Why yet another blog? Three reasons: 1) I sometimes write stuff on forums that is worth saving or just too long for a forum post, 2) I need a blog strictly dedicated to true school hiphop and 3) I want to write about hiphop in english again in case some poor english speaking true school soul should stumble onto this. When I had Headnod I got quite a few e-mails and comments saying stuff like “Seems like a pretty cool blog, pity I can’t read Swedish…” or more truthfully they would probably say “pity I can’t read German” but it’s all good…

Content: No rules, really. Maybe I’ll post youtube links for days with little or no comment or maybe I’ll write a long-ass essay once a month on the state of hiphop culture and the evils of capitalism and commercialism visavi the art form we all know and love? Or maybe a little of both? Who knows? Let’s just see where the blog takes us. It’ll be true school all the way is all I know…

Ayo, what happened to Peace? Peace in the middle eas’!
